Get involved.

Lakeside Shakespeare Festival Committee

Committee Chair: Max Buzzell

Are you interested in getting involved in supporting the Lakeside Shakespeare Festival? We're looking for volunteers to join our Festival Committee, a working group made up of volunteers and Festival staff. This is a great way to get involved and support the Lakeside Shakespeare Festival all year round.

Time commitment & meetings

Monthly meetings: 1 hour

Volunteer responsibilities outside of committee meetings will average 2 hours/month, ranging from meeting prep, acting as an ambassador for Lakeside Shakespeare Festival in your communities, connecting staff to your network of community members, and supporting the production & marketing of shows.

Based on your availability and interests, this could look like:

  • Supporting the Board of Directors in finding donated housing for cast and crew

  • Connecting staff and Board to community members to grow reach of Festival (in both Chicago & Northern Michigan)

  • Soliciting donations and/or business sponsorships

  • Supporting the dissemination of casting calls in Chicago

  • Spreading the word for kid’s acting camps & internships in Northern Michigan

  • Hanging posters, disseminating handouts

  • Volunteering to sell merchandise or concessions at shows

Committee membership & compensation

Lakeside Shakespeare Festival Committee membership is a volunteer role. Thank you for supporting our project to grow opportunities for live theatre in Northern Michigan!
