Theater education is really something special. There’s truly nothing else like watching kids learn how to express feeling through their words and bodies, gain confidence on stage, and be creative together. Over the past two months, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Tim Jones and about 30 of Frankfort Elementary’s 3rd-5th grade students.

In collaboration with our friends, we’re excited to announce The Ides of March, a one-day roaming Shakespeare festival! The Ides of March will unfold as a choose-your-own-adventure journey: move from venue to venue encountering scenes, songs, and soliloquies.

Lakeside Shakespeare began in 2003 fueled by the love and creativity of Elizabeth Laidlaw. I was only 7 years old at the time, and since that first production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream I’ve seen (almost) every summer of Lakeside shows.
